Bailey Law Group Cited by Washingtonian as a "Great Place to Work"

WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 18, 2007)—Bailey Law Group is one of only three Washington, D.C. law firms to be recognized by the Washingtonian for creating exceptional workplace environments.

In all, Washingtonian cited 60 D.C.-area businesses for their workplace best-practices.  Bailey Law Group joins other Washington-area firms and organizations, including the Rand Corporation, Marriott International, Booz Allen Hamilton and Verizon Wireless.

Kathy Bailey, the firm’s principal, said the firm “has exceptional diversity—in our staff, their experience, and the law we practice.  This diversity—and the environment it has created at the firm—translate into performance that consistently produces results for our clients in all of our practice areas.”

Ms. Bailey said the firm “takes risks other firms can’t or won’t take—by taking on cases that are often out of the ordinary.  This has created an environment where we challenge each other intellectually as a staff.  For our clients, it means we produce results that many other firms can’t duplicate.”

The firm’s practice areas are: Environmental Law; Commercial Real Estate Law; Civil Litigation; Business and Non-Profit Law; Government and Regulatory Affairs; Employment Law; and Alcoholic Beverage Licensing.

During the last few years, the firm has been engaged in a number of major cases on behalf of its clients, including successful resolution and settlement of a multi-million dollar business interruption case on behalf of a major U.S. company and representation of a heliport owner in a Fifth Amendment takings claim when the owner was forced to close after 9/11. Recently, a federal court in Philadelphia certified a nationwide consumer class represented by several firms—including Bailey Law Group—one of only a handful of nationwide consumer class actions that have been certified in the last year.

Bailey Law Group, which is based in Washington, also has an office in Irvine, California, and will soon open another office in the Denver-metro area in Colorado.

The other Washington law firms cited by Washingtonian are Arnold & Porter and Dickstein Shapiro.
